Blue magnifying glass iconIf you want to know more about how Applicants interact with OSCAR, we are running a series of short articles on the applicant perspective. For our first article in the series, we are discussing how applicants can find you, your hiring status, and your positions in OSCAR. Applicants have three main methods to find information about judges and staff attorney offices: the Positions List, the Judicial Directory, and email notifications.

Positions List

The Positions List is a new feature introduced for applicants in NextGen OSCAR. Any position posted in OSCAR displays on the Positions List, and the list provides applicants with multiple search, filter, and sort options. For instance, applicants can filter the list by preferred application methods or by judge type. From here, applicants can view the details of your position, including details about your hiring preferences and document requirements.

Judicial Directory

Applicants also have access to a directory of all judges and staff attorney offices (SAO) listed in OSCAR. They can use this list to view your OSCAR profile, look at current and past position postings, and determine your application methods.

Email Notifications

Applicants also have the option to receive daily or weekly or notifications from OSCAR. The notifications inform applicants when new positions are posted, existing positions are modified, and when positions are filled or expire. Applicants can configure notifications to only include certain judge types, position types, or geographic locations.
